POLICY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ELDER
AFFAIRS

The Executive Office on Aging (EOA) receives community input through
the Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs (PABEA). PABEA was created
to advise the Executive Director of the EOA on general policy matters
in the field of aging.
PABEA conducts it work through three standing committees and ad
hoc committees as needed. The standing committees are Legislative,
Plans and Project Review and Awards and Recognition. A By-Laws committee
and Nominations committee meet as needed.
The Governor with the consent of the State Senate appoints all
members, except ex-officio members. Ex-officio members are selected
from various state departments that work closely with the EOA on
matters pertaining to aging. The majority of the membership must
be sixty years or older. Members include persons with greatest economic
or social need and participants of the programs on aging. At least
one member must come from each county. PABEA members serve without
compensation. PABEA holds regular monthly meetings which are open
to the public. Please refer to the calendar
or call (808) 586-0100 for the date and place of the next meeting.
