Responsiveness, Encouragement,
Assistance through
Counseling and Help
Project REACH is a state initiative to respond to the problem of
elder abuse and neglect. This demonstration project includes four
components: Public Awareness & Education, Sentinel Training, Services,
and System Development.
- Public Awareness and Education provides information
on elder abuse and what services are available to assist those
who are at risk of abuse and neglect.
- Sentinel Training instructs elder care workers
and other appropriate individuals in the community to detect abuse
and properly report incidences.
- Services assist elders at risk of abuse and
neglect to get the proper care coordination, counseling and help
they need.
- System Development initiatives include networking
with other organizations to enhance the elder abuse response system.
