PROJECT R.E.A.C.H.

Responsiveness, Encouragement, Assistance through
Counseling and Help

Project REACH is a state initiative to respond to the problem of elder abuse and neglect. This demonstration project includes four components: Public Awareness & Education, Sentinel Training, Services, and System Development.

  • Public Awareness and Education provides information on elder abuse and what services are available to assist those who are at risk of abuse and neglect.

  • Sentinel Training instructs elder care workers and other appropriate individuals in the community to detect abuse and properly report incidences.

  • Services assist elders at risk of abuse and neglect to get the proper care coordination, counseling and help they need.

  • System Development initiatives include networking with other organizations to enhance the elder abuse response system.

For program information, please contact the Executive Office On Aging at (808) 586-0100.
