Small Purchase of Services

This method of procurement is for purchases of same or like health and human services totaling less than $25,000 in a 12 month period.

Brief Description:	Same or like services to be contracted totaling less than $25,000 in a 12-month period.
Bases for Use:	Purchase of same or like services is under $25,000 in a consecutive 12-month period and in accordance with requirements and rules for small purchases. Generally, this means obtaining 3 quotes. Parceling is not permitted.
Procedure:	To the extent as it is practical and based on the purchasing agency’s specifications, adequate and reasonable competition of no less than three quotations shall be solicited. The award shall be made to the provider with the most advantageous quotation.
Solicitation Required:	Yes. Generally, obtaining a minimum of three quotes.
Term Limit of Contract:	None specified by statute.
Monetary Cap:	Less than $25,000. Parceling is not permitted.
Protest:	None specified by statute.
Posting/Reporting Requirements:	Awards shall be posted within five working days of contract execution (or issuance of purchase order) to the contracts database (CDRS).
Comments:	Dividing the purchase of same, like or related services into service purchases of smaller quantities, to evade the statutory competition purchase of service requirements is not permitted.
