Workshop on
Secondary Purchases of Health and Human Services
Pursuant to Section 3-143-608, Hawaii Administrative Rules
was held July 31, 2003 at 1151 Punchbowl St., Honolulu
The workshop for state agency personnel provided an overview of secondary purchases as a planning and purchasing practice that allows state agencies to: 1) coordinate the needs of two or more agencies requiring substantially the same services, or 2) utilize another state agency’s competitive procurement to contract for the same services.
Topics included:
an overview of the two types of secondary purchases: planned, and after-the-fact;
conditions under which each type of secondary purchase may be used;
examples of how to implement secondary purchases; and
Form SPO-H-300 for requesting an after-the-fact secondary purchase.
