Workshop: The Basics of Procuring Health and Human Services

Pursuant to Chapter 103F, Hawaii Revised Statutes

August 25 & 28, 2003

This workshop was designed for anyone wishing to understand the basics of how the State procures health and human services for the people of Hawaii. Topics included:  the decision to 'make or buy' services, a brief overview of the five methods of procurement; a more in-depth look at the competitive (request for proposals or RFP) method of procurement and the RFP template; an overview of  the contract templates; information available to assist state agencies and private providers in planning for services.
